BC Cloud Enhancements
Vicinity 4.51 introduces significant updates aimed at enhancing performance, streamlining daily tasks, and expanding BC Cloud integration. Read more about several of the release highlights below, and check out the videos to see everything that is new!
Component Entry Enhancement – Added Filter Selections for Block Statusdit Fields to Additional Cost Tables
This screen has been enhanced to include three new settings in the ribbon. These settings allow the user to exclude Components that are marked with a block status from the list of Components retrieved in the lookup screens. The new settings are:
- Exclude blocked from product development
- Exclude blocked from production control
- Exclude blocked from posting
These settings correlate to the Block settings in the Main section of the Component Entry window.
Note: The filters use OR logic, so if more than a single exclude setting is selected, components will be excluded that match any one of the selected exclusion statements.
VicinityView Enhancement – Added “Copy Drillback to Clipboard” Option
VicinityView has been enhanced with the ability to create a drillback link for any VicinityView, including saved favorites. These drillback links can be used to create links to VicinityViews that can be executed outside of Vicinity (e.g., in Excel worksheets, desktop shortcuts), taking the user directly into a VicinityView or a saved favorite.
To obtain the drillback link:
- In VicinityView, navigate to and select the desired view.
- Right-click the view and click the “Copy drillback to clipboard” option
BC Cloud Enhancement – Support for BC Global Dimensions
In BC Cloud integrations, it is now possible to specify BC Global Dimensions to be used at the batch level during posting. These values will populate the Global Dimension fields as defined in BC General Ledger setup, overriding the default global dimension values defined in BC.
Note: This enhancement requires extension v23.1.20250605.1 or later.
Previously, the WIP account was controlled by the Gen Bus Posting Group assigned in BC on the Vicinity Setup screen. This configuration limited all Vicinity transactions to a single posting group. The Gen Bus Posting Group can now be assigned at the facility level in the Vicinity Facilities Setup screen, allowing different posting groups to be assigned on a per facility basis.
Note: This enhancement requires extension v23.1.20250605.1 or later.
